Pricing on babies ranges from $200-$300 depending on color, pattern, and temperament.
Deposits/Payment
We require a $75 deposit to reserve a hoglet or to get on the waiting list. The $75 will go toward the price of the hoglet. The remainder of what is owed is due at pick up or before the hoglet turns 6 weeks. The balance must be paid in CASH or VENMO only! We do not accept personal checks.
Be certain that you want a hedgehog prior to sending a deposit. Your deposit is not refundable and will be forfeited if you decide against getting a hoglet.
Hoglets will not be held without a deposit.
Most babies will be ready to go to their new homes by 6 weeks of age. Some babies take longer to develop and will be kept longer. Hoglets must be picked up within 10 days from when they are ready to go home. We can hold a hoglet longer than needed with prior consent and with an arranged pick-up time.
It is important to have valid contact information on file with us, if we are unable to reach you when the hoglet is ready to be picked up, your deposit will be forfeited and the hoglet will be available to our waiting list.
Waiting List
If you are interested in getting a hedgehog from us or wish to be put on our waiting list, please fill out the adoption application.
After we have reviewed and accepted your adoption application, you will be added to our waiting list to have first picks of new babies, your deposit of $75 must be paid.
I will contact people on the waiting list in the order that I receive the deposits. I cannot guarantee when we will have hoglets born. We have a maximum of 4 breeding females at a time and not all litters are successful. If there isn't a hoglet born from an expected litter, your spot will be held for the next litter. If you don't see a hoglet that you'd like from a current litter, and would like to wait, your spot will be saved for the next litter. If you place a deposit to be on the waiting list and you decide against getting a hedgehog, your deposit will be forfeited.
If you are on the waiting list, you will receive an email asking you to choose which baby you'd like. Once you've received the email to choose your baby, you have 24 hours to choose before you are moved down the waiting list.

Pick Ups
When your baby is an appropriate age and weight to go to their new home, you will be contacted by email. We will then set up a day/time/place to meet. For safety reasons, I ALWAYS meet at a public place (usually my local grocery store). It's important to arrive Promptly to our meeting time. I do not live where I meet for drop-offs, I have a full-time job and a family. There will be a $50 late fee if you arrive more than 30 minutes from our scheduled pickup time. If you have not updated me on your time of arrival, you will need to re-schedule your pickup day/time (whether you are on your way from a far location or not).
Sales Policies
**If for any reason you are unable to keep your hedgehog, we require that we are notified as soon as possible. We need to know where our hedgehogs are to ensure they are in good homes. The hedgehog MUST either be returned to us, or WE will find an educated home for the hedgehog to be placed. We will ALWAYS take our hedgehogs back. Selling or rehoming a hedgehog from us is not an option unless the new home is approved by us.**
We are currently not shipping hedgehogs, sorry for the inconvenience.
We do not sell to anyone under the age of 18.
We require a photo of the cage set up you intend to use for your hedgehog.
Our purchase agreement must be signed before receiving your hoglet.
We reserve the right to choose not to sell to someone, at any time, for whatever reason.
We do not sell to pet stores.
We do not sell to illegal states (Hawaii, New Jersey (permit required), Pennsylvania, Georgia, California, The 5 boroughs of NYC.)
For the safety and privacy of our home, we no longer allow home visits. I will always take a live video to show our hedgehogs and the hedgehog room at any time upon request.

We guarantee that all hedgehogs sold by Prickly Potato Hedgehogs are to the best of our knowledge, healthy and free of illness.
Should your hedgehog develop an illness within 7 days of purchase, and is confirmed by a licensed exotics veterinarian, we will either refund the purchase price or replace your hedgehog with a new baby. We reserve the right to discuss the diagnosis with your vet prior to receiving a replacement hoglet. The ill hedgehog must be returned promptly with a written report from your veterinarian. No refund or replacement will be made if death or illness of the hedgehog is caused by improper housing, feeding, or care provided by the buyer. All veterinary costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
We offer lifetime guarantee against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome. If a hedgehog from us is diagnosed with WHS, we will replace your hedgehog with a new baby. You must provide a necropsy report from a licensed veterinarian before your replacement hedgehog is given.
Please contact us immediately if you suspect your hedgehog has WHS.
All necropsy costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
